We received an overwhelming response to the Call for Abstracts which closed just recently and the Scientific Committee now has the rewarding task of organising reviews for over 2,000 submissions!
A huge thank you to everyone who has participated with the abstract submissions! We’re so very pleased with this result and will be looking forward to building an amazing and enriching Congress program for April next year.
Reviews will commence shortly and all authors will be notified of the results in October.
Speakers to “wow” you with
We have some incredible speakers lined up to present at the Congress and look forward to seeing them in Melbourne next year. In this edition of the Congress newsletters we meet Peter Doherty:
University of Melbourne, Australia
Peter Doherty shared the 1996 Nobel Medicine Prize for discovering the nature of the cellular immune defense. Based at the University of Melbourne and also spending part of his year at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, he continues to be involved in research directed at understanding and preventing the severe consequences of influenza virus infection. In addition, he goes in to bat for evidence-based reality, relating to areas as diverse as childhood vaccination, global hunger and anthropogenic climate change. In an effort to communicate more broadly, he has published 5 “lay” books.
For more information on Peter and our other confirmed speakers, visit the website.
Program taking shape
Have you had a look at the Congress program yet? We’ve got an excellent week planned which we guarantee will be jam packed with educational and inspiring sessions. And it’s only going to get bigger! Once the abstract submissions have been reviewed we’ll be working on populating the program further to give you the big picture on what to expect at the Congress.
