Call for Abstracts Deadline Approaching
Have you submitted an abstract for consideration at the Congress yet? There’s still time, however the deadline is fast approaching and you don’t want to leave it to the last minute!
Abstracts can be submitted for a number of presentation types and in a variety of themes. Submissions can be entered via the form available online and will close 26 August 2016 – don’t miss out!

Registration for the World Congress on Public Health 2017 is such an easy process you’ll be able to do it in your morning tea break! The online form available will allow you to:
- Register for the Congress
- Choose your social functions
- Book a field trip for Friday 7 April 2017
- Select one of many hotel options available
- Provide immediate payment via credit card or request an invoice for payment

We have some great speakers lined up to present at the Congress and look forward to seeing them in Melbourne next year. In this edition of the Congress newsletters we meet Michelle Deshong:
James Cook University, Townsville
Michelle Deshong lives in Townsville, North Queensland and draws her connection to the Kuku Yulanji nation. She has completed a BA with First Class Honours in Political Science and Indigenous studies and is working on her PhD at James Cook University. Michelle has worked in both the Government and NGO sectors, and has held many senior leadership roles. From 2001-2010 Michelle was the Director of the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre and in 2001 she was awarded ACT Aboriginal Person of the year.

Ten individual field trips will be held on Friday 7 April 2017 and delegates can book a ticket to a field trip via the online registration form. Tickets cost AUD25 per person and spaces are limited with a maximum occupancy set per trip. Information on the field trips is now available on the Congress website; they’ll provide a great way to finish off the Congress so get in early to secure your first preference!
